What does a flex fuel kit actually do?

An ethanol-content sensor measures the ethanol percentage in the fuel. A supported ECU calibration can use this information to account for changes in ethanol content. A sensor by itself is not a tune, does not add fuel-system capacity and does not guarantee compatibility with E85 or additional horsepower.

VB WRX FA24 versus VA WRX FA20DIT

The 2022+ WRX VB uses the turbocharged 2.4L FA24, whereas the 2015–2021 WRX VA uses the 2.0L FA20DIT. The kits are not interchangeable. For the VB, see Delicious V3 CAN Flex Fuel Kit (DT_DITWRX2_FFBT_V520). For the older WRX, see the 2015–2021 CAN Gateway Flex Fuel Kit.

How the Delicious V3 CAN kit integrates

Delicious describes this product for supported COBB Accessport workflows using a CAN Gateway and vehicle-specific fuel-line hardware. Its published design aims to retain factory sensors while communicating ethanol readings to compatible ECU software. Specific functionality depends on vehicle, firmware, selected variant and supported calibration. See Delicious's official VB documentation for the current configuration.

E30, E50 or E85: what should you know?

Those labels indicate approximate ethanol concentration; actual fuel varies. Ethanol blends can require significantly greater fuel volume than gasoline for comparable engine operation. An ethanol sensor cannot increase the capacity of the low-pressure pump, high-pressure pump or injectors. The appropriate blend and calibration depend on the fuel system, vehicle condition, logging and legal requirements. Never change blend simply because a sensor has been installed.

Before ordering: seven things to verify

  1. Confirm the model year, engine and transmission.
  2. Confirm that your COBB hardware, software and calibration strategy support the specific Delicious kit.
  3. Identify fuel pumps, injectors, pressure regulator and any fuel-system modifications.
  4. Identify the turbocharger, intercooler, intake and related modifications.
  5. Choose the correct available Bluetooth and pressure-monitoring options.
  6. Confirm CARB EO or other applicable emissions documentation for the exact part and road vehicle.
  7. Ask EDO to confirm inventory and lead time for your selected configuration.

Installation and verification

The manufacturer's short plug-and-play installation estimate is not an all-inclusive labor quotation. Professional work can include inspecting fuel-line connections, pressure or leak checks, sensor data verification, diagnostic review and validation of the exact ECU calibration. EDO Performance can review fitment and eligible service availability in Stanton, California. Request a Subaru consultation.

California emissions compliance

COBB Green Speed software compatibility alone does not establish that a hardware and calibration combination is permitted for California road use. Verify any applicable CARB Executive Order and covered application before road-use installation. Review CARB aftermarket parts guidance.

Frequently asked questions

Does the kit include a tune?

Do not assume a calibration is included. Confirm the specific package contents and availability of supported tuning separately.

Does the kit increase horsepower?

Not on its own. Engine output depends on calibration, fuel, mechanical setup and operating conditions.

Can I use EcuTek on the VB WRX with this kit?

The manufacturer primarily describes this SKU in a COBB Accessport workflow. Obtain written confirmation before assuming alternative-platform support.

How long is installation?

Vehicle modifications, diagnostics and calibration requirements affect the total time. Contact EDO for an assessment.
