Quick Buying Guide: Which EcuTek Product Do I Need?

• First-time user – want to flash and log your own car:
  Start with the EcuTek ECU Connect Programming Kit w/ Bluetooth. This gives you the Bluetooth interface and cables you need to flash tunes from your tuner, data log, and use the free ECU Connect app on iOS or Android.
  Great for owners who are working with a remote tuner and want phone/laptop-based flashing.
• Pro tuner / shop – full laptop-based tuning:
  Choose the EcuTek ProECU Programming Kit. This is the classic USB-based kit that plugs into the OBDII port and works with ProECU for diagnostics, logging, and remote tuning. Ideal for shops and advanced users who are tuning multiple cars or building their own maps.
• Licensing a car that already has hardware:
  Use the EcuTek Vehicle Flash License. Every car that gets tuned with EcuTek needs a license/flash allocation. This listing is for the license only – no tune and no hardware are included. It’s what lets your dongle actually flash a specific ECU.
• Lost or damaged dongle / adding another tuning workstation:
  Grab an ECUTEK Replacement Dongle. This is the USB security key that stores your flash points/licenses and lets ProECU talk to the car. Order this if you’ve lost or damaged the original, or you’re setting up an additional tuning laptop.
• Toyota GR Yaris / GR Corolla owners:
  You’ll need the EcuTek Toyota Yaris/Corolla GR Gateway Bypass Cable every time you flash the car. It bypasses the factory gateway so the ECU can be programmed safely without removing it from the car.

• Shop / multiple cars: ProECU Programming Kit + flash licenses for each customer car, plus replacement dongles as needed.

Does this include a tune?
No. These listings are for hardware and/or licenses only. You’ll still need a base map or custom tune from an EcuTek tuner. If you need help with tuning, email sales@edoperformance.com or call us during business hours.

What’s the difference between ECU Connect and ProECU?
ECU Connect is the Bluetooth interface + app that lets you flash, log, and use features like PhoneFlash and RaceROM functions directly from your phone. ProECU is the Windows-based software used by tuners for full map editing, diagnostics, and pro-level logging. Many setups use both together.

Do I always need a flash license?
Yes. Each vehicle that’s tuned with EcuTek needs its own license/flash allocation linked to your dongle. Hardware alone won’t let you flash a car.

Can I tune multiple cars with one kit?
Yes, but each car needs its own Vehicle Flash License. The same programming kit (ECU Connect or ProECU) can be used on multiple vehicles as long as you have enough licenses/flash points on your dongle.

Is this right for a DIY beginner?
If you’re brand new to tuning, we recommend working with a trusted EcuTek tuner and using the ECU Connect Programming Kit plus a tune file from them instead of trying to build maps from scratch.
