If you’re tuned, boosted, or pushing your car hard on the street or track, spark plugs stop being “maintenance” and start being a reliability part. HKS Super Fire Racing plugs are designed to maintain strong ignition under harsh conditions like high boost pressure, lean mixtures, and sustained high load.

Why HKS plugs work on modified engines

0.6mm iridium alloy center electrode helps reduce required voltage and supports stable ignition.
Platinum chip ground electrode is built for durability while maintaining consistent spark performance.
Thermal Edge + Spark Support Gap help reduce carbon buildup that can lead to misfires after idling or under varied combustion conditions.
Anti-vibration outer electrode design (short-type) improves longevity in high-vibration environments.

Pick the right heat range

Heat range matters. Too hot, and you risk knock and plug damage. Too cold, and you can foul plugs and misfire. If you’re not sure what to run, follow your tuner’s guidance (fuel type, boost, timing, and plug gap all matter).

FAQs

Q: Are HKS Super Fire Racing plugs good for stock cars too?
A: Yes—HKS positions them for both stock and tuned engines, but they really shine when cylinder pressures and load go up.

Q: What causes misfire/blowout under boost?
A: Often it’s plug gap/heat range mismatch, weak ignition components, or carbon buildup—boost makes small issues loud fast.

Q: Do these plugs help with carbon-fouling and idle misfires?
A: The Thermal Edge and Spark Support Gap are designed to reduce carbon deposits that can lead to misfires after idling or varied combustion conditions.

Q: Can the wrong heat range damage a plug?
A: Yes—HKS specifically warns that improper combustion conditions and wrong heat range selection can damage the spark plug.

Q: What’s the difference between M-Series and MR-Series?
A: MR-Series is positioned around extended longevity/reliability (ruthenium alloy electrode) in certain applications—check listings for fitment.

Q: Do you offer installation?
A: Yes—if you want it done right the first time, install + verification is available locally.
