Your hand finds the shifter a thousand times a drive, and the console around it is the panel you look at most. The AutoTecknic Pre-Preg Carbon Fiber Center Console replaces the factory piece with a full dry carbon part built for one car: the BMW E46 M3 Coupe with the 6-speed manual.

Coupe only. This console does not fit the E46 M3 Convertible. On the Convertible, the driver side switch panel has three buttons instead of two, with the extra button controlling the soft top. That makes the left side panel longer than the right, and it will not fit the switch slot in this console. It is also not compatible with SMG cars and is offered in left hand drive only.

Carbon Fiber Center Console, Not a Wrap

This is not an overlay, vinyl wrap or hydrodip. It is a complete replacement console made from 100% genuine pre-preg carbon fiber, cured under controlled heat and pressure for consistent weave alignment and a rigid, lightweight part. Choose 3K plain weave or 3K twill weave, both finished in multiple layers of high gloss protective clear coat.

Fits Like the Factory Part

The console is shaped to the OEM unit, so your factory window switches, shift boot and knob carry straight over. No cutting, no trimming. If you can work interior trim clips, you can do this in your garage.

Vehicle Fitment

Fits left hand drive vehicles only:

  • BMW E46 M3 Coupe (2001-2006): 6-speed manual transmission

Not compatible with:

  • BMW E46 M3 Convertible (all years, manual or SMG): three-button driver side switch panel does not fit
  • BMW E46 M3 Coupe with SMG transmission
  • Right hand drive vehicles

Installation Notes

Check your car before you order. Look at the window switches beside your shifter. A Coupe has two buttons on the driver side. If yours has three, with one for the convertible top, this console will not fit.

  1. Remove the shift knob and shift boot.
  2. Release the factory console from its clips using plastic trim tools.
  3. Disconnect and remove the window switches.
  4. Install the switches into the AutoTecknic console and reconnect them.
  5. Clip the new console into place and reinstall the shift boot and knob.

On a car this age the factory trim clips can be brittle. Work slowly and keep a few spares on hand.
