Motul 8100 X-CESS GEN2 5W-40 is a high-performance 100% synthetic engine oil formulated for powerful gasoline and diesel vehicles with naturally aspirated or turbocharged engines and indirect or direct fuel injection.

The versatile SAE 5W-40 formulation combines rapid cold-start circulation with strong oil-film resistance at elevated temperatures. It is designed to support stable oil pressure, wear protection, engine cleanliness, and resistance to oxidation and deposit formation across demanding daily-driving and performance conditions.

It is compatible with catalytic converters and a broad range of fuels, including leaded or unleaded gasoline, ethanol blends, LPG, diesel, and compatible biofuels.

WHY THIS OIL:

The current API SQ performance standard provides enhanced protection against oxidation, deposits, engine wear, and low-temperature performance loss throughout the oil service life.

API SQ also provides protection against low-speed pre-ignition, commonly known as LSPI, in downsized turbocharged direct-injection gasoline engines.

FITMENT AND COMPATIBILITY NOTE:

Use only in engines requiring SAE 5W-40 with one or more of the listed API, ACEA, or OEM specifications.

Approval requirements can vary by vehicle model, engine, production year, emissions equipment, and market. Confirm the exact viscosity and approval listed in the vehicle owner’s manual or service documentation before use.

Applications requiring BMW LL-04, VW 504 00 / 507 00, or another low-SAPS specification require a different approved lubricant.

Drain intervals should follow the vehicle maintenance schedule and be adjusted for operating conditions, modifications, fuel type, and performance use.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

This is an ACEA A3/B4 full-SAPS engine oil and should not be selected solely because the vehicle requires 5W-40 viscosity.

Confirm compatibility before use in diesel vehicles equipped with a diesel particulate filter or other emissions systems requiring a low-SAPS lubricant.

The oil can be mixed with compatible synthetic or mineral engine oils when necessary, although a complete oil and filter change is preferred for consistent lubricant performance.
