Purpose-built hardware for the bench-unlock process.
How the service works
One visit. A clear process.
Bench unlocking requires ECU removal and the correct connector cable. Here’s what to expect when arranging your service.
Tell us about your BMW
Send your model, year, engine, modifications and tuning goals. We’ll review the ECU information needed and confirm eligibility, pricing and an appointment.
We do the bench work
At your confirmed visit, the ECU is removed and connected to the EcuTek Bench Programmer. Supported unlocking is performed using ProECU while you wait at the shop.
Discuss your calibration
Once unlocked, a supported ECU can be programmed through PhoneFlash or ProECU. We’ll discuss the appropriate next step for your vehicle and goals.
Vehicle eligibility

Before your visit
A few things worth knowing.
Can I wait at the shop while the ECU is unlocked?
Yes. We offer while-you-wait in-shop unlocking for confirmed, eligible appointments. Contact us first so we can verify your ECU, agree the work and confirm the expected visit time. Additional diagnostics or calibration work may require more time.
Does the ECU need to leave the vehicle?
Yes. The bench process requires ECU removal and connection to the appropriate cable. For eligible applications, the unlocking is performed at our shop without sending the ECU to an external unlocking provider.
Does this cover every BMW built after June 2020?
No. Only supported ECU applications qualify. We check your exact ECU and software before confirming the service.
How much does unlocking cost?
Request a vehicle-specific quotation. Labor, software, licensing and calibration requirements depend on the agreed service scope.
Does unlocking automatically add horsepower?
No. Unlocking enables compatible programming. Calibration is a separate step, and performance results depend on your vehicle, hardware and setup.
Can customers outside Southern California inquire?
Yes. We welcome consultation inquiries nationwide and worldwide. While-you-wait service takes place at our Stanton workshop. Contact us to discuss available arrangements before shipping an ECU or planning travel.
