IPD Porsche Plenum Upgrades

If you’re chasing sharper throttle response and stronger power delivery across the rev range, an IPD Porsche plenum is one of the cleanest bolt-on intake upgrades you can do. IPD’s patented cast aluminum “Y” design replaces the factory “T” style air distributor to split and channel airflow more efficiently, reducing turbulence and pressure drop while increasing air velocity into the engine. 

IPD plenums are popular on both naturally aspirated and forced-induction Porsche platforms because they help the engine breathe with less restriction—especially under load where airflow consistency matters most.

Fitment notes (quick guide):

Supported across many 911 / Boxster / Cayman generations (Carrera + Turbo/GT applications vary by engine and throttle body size). 

Some “Competition” style setups may require the popular 82mm “GT3” throttle body depending on your chassis/engine configuration. 

Newer options exist for platforms like 992 Carrera as well.

FAQ

What does an IPD plenum do?
It replaces the factory “T” style air distributor with a patented “Y” design to better manage airflow, reduce turbulence, and improve intake efficiency. 

 

Do I need a tune?
Most customers run an IPD plenum as a bolt-on with the stock ECU. Tuning can help maximize gains when paired with other mods (intake/exhaust/throttle body).

 

Which Porsche models does IPD support?
IPD makes applications across many Porsche 911/Boxster/Cayman generations; exact fit depends on your engine and throttle body. 

 

What’s the 82mm “GT3” throttle body thing?
Some IPD Competition plenums are designed around an 82mm throttle body for certain NA and Turbo/GT applications; others already have 82mm from the factory.
