Choose the right Link ECU: Plug-In vs Wire-In

Plug-In ECUs are the fastest path to a clean, OEM-like install on supported platforms (great for street cars, track cars, and mild-to-wild builds).
Wire-In ECUs are for full control: engine swaps, custom harnesses, race cars, and anything outside the normal playbook.

Link’s PCLink is the control center—use it to configure ECU functions, tune in real time, and analyze logs so your changes are based on data, not vibes.

Q1: What is a Link ECU and what does it control?
A Link ECU is the engine control unit that manages key engine parameters and lets you tune fuel, ignition, boost strategies, and integration with sensors/devices for performance and reliability.

 

Q2: Do I need a plug-in or wire-in Link ECU?
Plug-in is best when your vehicle has a supported application and you want a clean install. Wire-in is best for custom builds, swaps, or when you need full flexibility.

 

Q3: What software do I use to tune a Link ECU?
Link uses PCLink for ECU configuration, live tuning, and data log analysis.

 

Q4: Can you help me pick the right ECU for my build?
Yes—this is the whole point. We work directly with the Link team and our tuner staff has 25 years of tuning experience, so we’ll steer you to the right ECU path before you waste money.

 

Q5: Do you provide support after I buy?
Yes—setup guidance, common configuration pitfalls, and log-based troubleshooting help (when appropriate). Link also maintains a global dealer/support network.
