Introducing our high flowing FK8, FL5 and DE5 1530cc injectors, custom designed and proudly manufactured in the US. Elevate your performance with these high-quality injectors, providing a remarkable 44% increase in fuel delivery compared to the stock FK8 / FL5 / DE5 injectors (stock size: 1059cc). Stock starting with a smooth idle while preserving a stock like spray pattern. Take your Civic Type R and Integra-S fuel capabilities to the next level with this upgrade for unprecedented fuel delivery and efficiency.

The Hondata designed, US manufactured 1530cc fuel injectors deliver a spray pattern for great fuel atomisation with 47% more flow than a stock Civic Type R (either FK8 or FL5) or Integra-S injector. These injectors are calibrated at 100 BAR. Hondata has tested these injectors to over 550 HP on E85 which indicates a HP capacity over 700hp on race fuel.

  • Four 1530cc Hondata injectors
  • E85 compatible
  • Stock like atomization
  • Designed and manufactured in the USA
  • Sold as a matched set of 4.
  • How to install

Note: These injector were prevously incorrectly shown as 1427cc.  The injector has not changed.

FAQs

What engines do these injectors fit?

  • FK8 (Civic Type R)
  • FL5 (Civic Type R)
  • DE5 (Integra-S)

How do these differ from stock injectors?

These high flow Hondata designed, US built and fabricated 1530cc injectors deliver an additional 41% (FK8) or 38% (FL5/DE5) fuel volume over stock.

What's the injector spray pattern like?

The Hondata injectors are designed with a spray pattern comparible to stock, meaning startup and idle are similar to stock.

How does this work with flex fuel?

These injectors are designed and tested to work with flex fuel. Flex fuel requires 40% more fuel volume than standard pump fuel. The stock fuel pump cannot deliver the volume of fuel needed for E85. These injectors are designed to be used with the Hondata camshaft and Fuel system Plus.

Whats the quality like?

USA designed, developed and manufactured. We have conducted 2 years of extensive testing on Hondata's vehicle fleet.

Whats the warranty and procedure?

1 year parts. Contact support@hondata.com with your unique injector serial numbers and invoice number for an RMA. Return shipping is covered by customer.

INJECTOR TECH

Increasing injector flow while maintaining atomisation requires countersinking the holes. Hondata replicated the stock injector hole design. Simply drilling a hole does not optimise fuel atomisation. (think firehose)

The injector fuel exit must be counter-bored stepped for optimal atomisation.

Hondata tested with a microfine grid under each injector to determine the fuel delivered to each segment.

Injector tips

  • Stock injectors have 7 counter-bored holes
  • Hondata 1530 injectors have 9 counter-bored holes
  • The competitition have 6 counter-bored holes and 1 non counterbored.

Note the competitor injector spray cone and bend angle is smaller than stock.

Injector Cone angle 100 bar Bend angle 100 bar
Stock FK8 52.1 20
Hondata 49 18
Competition 35.7 8

Stock injector atomisation 100 bar

Hondata 1530cc injector atomisation 100 bar

Competition injector atomisation 100 bar

Note the bulk of the spray is in the centre.

Fuel pressure

Max operating pressure 250 bar
Max sensor range 260 bar

Meaning, if you exceed 260 bar fuel pressure you wont know how much you over-pressureize. We've seen no powergains over 220 bar. Higher pressure improves atomisation but reduces fuel volume.

Injector lockup

When the fuel pressure is too high, the injector can lock up and stop delivering fuel. Fuel rails and pumps are very noisy as far as pressure waves are concerned. You might request 200 bar, but injector closing and pump operation can spike this to many bar higher. This pressure wave noise is too brief to be measured by the stock Honda fuel rail pressure sensor. Hondata injectors are designed to function between 200 and 240 bar (and a lot higher values). Higher pressures may improve atomisation but decrease fuel pump volumetric efficiency - as in your system delivers less fuel. (Read this Hondata test on in tank pumps)  We have seen competing injectors lock up at 230 bar, which is bad for your engine.
